Argentina
DESTINATION
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
Patagonia glaciers, salt flats, wine country, tango nights — Argentina is a destination that spoils solo travelers with drama and diversity.
Know Before You Go: Exploring Argentina with Style and Ease
Visa-free for most countries (double-check yours!)
Distances are vast — plan for internal flights or long drives
Rent a car if exploring Jujuy / Cafayate / Salinas Grandes — but be warned: automatic cars are rare. I learned this the hard way and had to master manual shifting between Buenos Aires and the salt lands... character-building, yes. Recommended? Not quite.
Argentina is not just a trip, it’s a full-on affair — from glacier kayaking to dancing through the streets of Buenos Aires, expect to fall hard.

What To
EXPECT
Language: Spanish is spoken everywhere!
Currency: Argentine Pesos (ARS). Due to inflation, bring crisp USDs or Euros for better exchange rates at cuevas instead of ATMs
Plugs: Type C & I Plugs - Voltage is 220V - universal adapter works perfectly
Visit
BEST TIME TO
For Patagonia (El Calafate / Perito Moreno): November–March (summer in the south)
For Buenos Aires: September–November (spring) or March–May (fall) for perfect city vibes
For Salinas Grandes & Jujuy: Dry season is best (April–October) to avoid impassable roads and heavy rains
